Conjectures: from latin, conjectus, literally, to throw together, com+jacere; midrash of texts and contexts; interpretation of events; reflections on spirit, church, and society. ''At the bottom of the heart of every human being, from earliest infancy until the tomb, there is something that goes on indomitably expecting, in the teeth of all experience of crimes committed, suffered and witnessed, that good and not evil will be done.'' Simone Weil

I am persuaded that this is the wrong war at the wrong time in the wrong place. If it can't be stopped, then God help us all. Saddam is probably worse than they say he is. He should go. But it's going to take patience and strong action with the support of the UN Security Council.. The goal is the defeat-- not of Iraq per se-- but of the movement of nihilistic terrorism and violence. Let us be wise as serpents with hearts as doves. Otherwise this is how nations rise and fall. MGranzen
