“To be a good dancer with you, Lord, as elsewhere, there is no need for us to know where it will lead. We must follow, be lively, be nimble, and above all not be inflexible. We must not ask you to explain the steps which you are pleased to take, we must be a kind of agile and living extension of you, and receive the rhythm of the orchestra as you pass it on to us. We must not want to go forwards at all costs, but accepts turnings, changes of direction …
Lord, come and ask us to dance. We are ready to dance you this errand we have to do, these accounts, the meal we have to prepare, this vigil when we feel drowsy. We are ready to dance you the dance of our work, dancing in the heat, dancing later in the cold....if people bump into us, we will accept it with a laugh, well aware that it always happens when you are dancing. Lord, come and ask us to dance!” Madeleine Delbrel
