MINISTRY IN THE MEANTIME
Many thoughts this summer afternoon as I finish reading Barbara Brown Taylor's "Leaving Church." What does it mean to be a pastor today-- to minister to sons and daughters of God shaped by forces of fate, guilt, and death--while also subject to the same? Some sundry examples of these contexts and consequences: depression, police violence, abusive spouse, divorce, schizophrenia, drug addiction, gang violence, brain trauma, diabetes, Alzheimer's, cancer, cancer, cancer...
"I would think it (ministry) is a privilege and an honor." Scotsman at Iona.
