RIVER RUN

It's twenty-nine degrees out with bright sun and burnt orange maple leaves. Bicycling along the Delaware River this morning will require two layers of shirts, gloves and wool hat. I go because it awakens the blood and heart, like diving into a fresh pond. I think there is something in the soul that yearns for re-connection with nature. Along this river I see blue heron, dozens of hawks, wild turkey, V formations of Canadian geese, grey squirrels, elusive deer, and glimpses of wild things in the woods. Because of the cool temperature this morning it will be a fast river run.
