THE TWILIGHT OF EMPIRE?

Another strong critique of America's existential situation from Chris Hedges. I'm curious as to whether most folks agree with him or no? Are we winding down as did the Romans, Ottomans, British, and Russians? I guess the signs of political, economic and even cultural mediocrity are there and decline occurs slowly, imperceptibly. The question is what kind of world are we leaving our children and grandchildren?

Yet today, strangely, I am more hopeful, in spite of this lousy weather. "There's still time to change the road we're on."
